  7. 9. The extra questions on the Lab <ul><li>6) The can was crushed because of the atmospheric pressure outside the can became greater than the pressure inside the can. Explain what had happened inside the can? </li></ul><ul><li>I think that because of the pressure in the heated water in the can was so dense that when it hit cool water so much energy was released. </li></ul><ul><li>7) Inside every popcorn kennel is a small amount of water. When you make water the kernel is heated until it turns to steam. Explain how the popping kernel is the opposite of what you saw in this lab. </li></ul><ul><li>The difference between these two things is that when the can with steaming boiling water hits room temperature water the can was crushed. When the water filled kernel pops it isn't crushed but it exerted energy. The can went inside while the kernel went out. </li></ul>
  8. 10. Summary <ul><li>I think this project is simple yet interesting because all you need is basic materials that you have around the house. Another reason that I think that this project was interesting was that you could see the power of atmospheric pressure. I hope this project interested you more than it did to me. </li></ul>
