NEW TAG LINE AND VIDEO FOR JEFFERSON Presents Theme, Initiatives to Promote Village JEFFERSON - (April 24, 2007) - The Village of Jefferson, Ohio and the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce (JACC) today set a new course for the marketing of Jefferson by announcing the launch of an economic development and tourism marketing campaign. Mayor Judy Maloney and JACC President Patricia Bradek introduced a fresh, new marketing kit, an updated web site and powerful tag line designed to reposition Jefferson and dispel any outdated stereotypes held by many outside the region. The marketing kits will be distributed to regional radio and television news agencies, newspapers, magazines, along with national business, news and travel magazines, cable channels and regional businesses. With additional testimonials by Jefferson civic leaders and business luminaries, a 14 -minute video – included in the marketing kit and available online - will be an instrumental tool in bringing Jefferson’s new brand to life. 'Historic and Progressive, Jefferson, Ohio – Just Imagine.' sends a positive message that I truly believe in”, said Mayor Maloney. "Jefferson's history is rich with bold thinkers who have risked their lives to ensure freedom, prosperity and success for all. That spirit of imagination is still alive in our village today." "Jefferson is a destination that inspires the imagination," said Bradek. "When visitors come to our village, they experience Jefferson as a wonderful place to visit, do business and raise a family. We now have the right look and feel to communicate that message." Media Magic Productions, a Jefferson-based advertising and public relations agency, produced the 12 minute marketing video and testimonials, and has been working with the Village of Jefferson and the Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce to help define the brand and map the marketing direction. "We know that the Jefferson area has something to offer everyone: delightful restaurants, and coffeehouses, a busy downtown shopping district, a myriad of outdoor sports and recreational activities, world-class equestrian centers and major corporations that are industry leaders. But nobody else knows it," said Bradek. The "Historic and Progressive, Jefferson, Ohio- Just Imagine" brand video highlights Jefferson’s history, business strengths, architecture, lifestyle, rural environment and recreational opportunities. Former Jefferson mayor Larry Bragga narrates the video. Jefferson business and civic leaders featured in this video include in Mark Jarrell, Plant Manager, Worthington Cylinder; Jim Fultz, Vice President, King Luminaire, Ohio/ StressCrete Group; Janet Disher, Deputy Director, Growth Partnership for Ashtabula County and Rev. Fred Grimm, Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church and member of the Jefferson Ministerial Group. The video will be used as a centerpiece in ongoing marketing efforts of Jefferson Village and the JACC is available online at the Village of Jefferson website: www.jeffersonohio.us. "When you see this video, you get inspired. You know Jefferson truly is as great as we think it is," Maloney said. "We look forward to getting these images and ideas in front of those living and working in Northeast Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania, as well as the rest of the world."
