Ashtabula County Newsnet Goes On The Air- Press Release - Presentation Transcript

    1. Media Magic Productions Emmy Award-Winning Audio/Video Production & Public Relations FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT: JUNE 11, 2003 CHERYL DICKSON-WALKER 440-294-2492 FAX 440-294-2519 ASHTABULA COUNTY NEWSNET PREMIERES LOCAL DAILY CABLE NEWSCAST FOR ASHTABULA COUNTY Jefferson, OH The Ashtabula County Newsnet will premiere the first daily local cable news service dedicated to covering the people and issues affecting residents living in the 27 townships of Ashtabula County, Monday June 30, 2003, at 7PM. ACN is a cooperative effort of local cable television operations, the Ohio State University’s Ashtabula County Extension Office, and a partnership of Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus, The Ashtabula Star Beacon, Ashtabula.tv and ACN’s parent company, Media Magic Productions. ACN’s news service will reach more than 30,000 households, Monday through Friday, on Kent State’s Adelphia Cable Channel 29 and Orwell Cable Channel 40, plus thousands more through streaming webcasts of the news on the local web portal, Ashtabula.tv. “Residents of Ashtabula County are hungry for local news”, says ACN News Director, Cheryl Dickson-Walker. “They tell us that they’re tired of the stream of negative news about Ashtabula that comes from the minimal local news coverage they receive from Cleveland and Erie television stations. They want news they can use about their communities, their local government, issues that affect their families and friends. They want a local television news outlet that will listen to their concerns and let them voice their opinions. We plan to be that outlet.” Through daily news coverage, news magazines and special reports, the Ashtabula County Newsnet will give local viewers unparalleled coverage and in-depth analysis of the issues that are of most concern to the people and business leaders of Ashtabula County. From education issues, to agriculture and the environment, to healthcare and government concerns, and of course, local safety and weather information, the ACN newscasts are full service programs providing television viewers in Ashtabula County with the all important local information that they can't get on TV anywhere else. The ACN news team of experienced videographers, audio engineers, editors, producers/writers and reporters will work hand in hand with print journalists from the Star Beacon, veteran Conneaut cable TV news anchor Ken Vaughn and other local news and photojournalists, in producing our newscasts. As a news journalist, News Director Cheryl Dickson-Walker is the winner of four Cleveland Emmy awards and six additional Emmy nominations for newscasts and public affairs shows produced at WEWS-TV, in Cleveland, Ohio. Advertising on ACN will allow local business and organizations for the first time, to reach one of Northeast Ohio’s most vital markets on local cable programming, for a relatively low investment. By combining ACN’s high cumulative audience with ACN’s competitive rates, advertisers can efficiently reach their market with high frequency and pinpoint precision. For more information on the Ashtabula County Newsnet, contact Cheryl Dickson-Walker, news director, at 440294-2431, or e-mail at: mail@mediamagicproductions.com.
