  • 1. Bonner Student Leaders in Action
  • 2. Students in Service Move through a challenging set of leadership roles at the site. Seek out more responsibilities: ★Volunteer and stay ★Lead a team ★Improve or start a program ★Secure new resources ★Connect partner with a course or faculty member ★Do research or academic work ★Build the capacity of the organization
  • 3. Student Leadership Team Create a structure for your Bonner Program for student leadership: ★Class Representatives ★Committees ★Bonner Congress Representatives ★Senior Interns ★Community Outreach Interns ★Other ideas? Work on: Meetings, Trainings, Best Practices, Campus-Wide Events, Culture of Service
  • 4. Bonner Congress Representatives Represent their program and campus to the network, nation, and world. Work to improve their program and campus-wide civic engagement through: ★Playing leadership roles on campus & in the network ★Attending meetings (2x per year) ★Networking, learning & sharing examples from other schools ★Building a movement on the wiki, forum, email, and at meetings ★Taking initiative to strengthen their programs

Sample Projects Student leaders figure out challenges they want to tackle and do them: ★Voter Education & Registration (drives, campaigns) ★Social Justice focus on campus (reflection sessions, film series, awareness weeks) ★Improving Bonner Program (focus groups, surveys, meetings, committees) ★Planning & running meetings (All Bonner Meetings, national networking events) ★Planning Campus-wide Events (National All Bonner Service Day, Advocacy projects) ★Coordinating an Issue-Based Focus
