This paper introduces a number of problems with ANSI SQL integration of native XML structured data that are preventing the full use of this technology and puts forth an advanced working solution. These problems are at the SQL/XML system integration level, the relational/XML data integration level, and the level of incompatibility between the main SQL vendors who each have their own proprietary native XML solutions. This paper presents a natural ANSI SQL solution to these problems that is based on ANSI SQL’s dynamic inherent multipath nonlinear hierarchical processing capability. This paper explains how this previously unrealized capability is utilized to solve these problems seamlessly and naturally at a transparent dynamic full hierarchical processing level. This also enables advanced structured data processing capabilities with correct XML results for on-demand dynamic structured output and report publishing.
