    • Mammals are warm blooded.
    • Mammals have hair or fur.
    • Mothers feed milk to their babies.
    • Most can walk, hop or run.
    • Some can swim or fly.

    • Reptiles have dry skin
    • They are covered with scales.
    • Some have shells.
  • 6. What are some reptiles?
  • 7. Birds
    • Birds have feathers
    • They have two legs and two wings.
    • Most birds fly.
    • They breathe with body
    • parts called lungs.
  • 8. What are some birds?
  • 9. Amphibians
    • Amphibians live on water AND on land.
    • Most have damp skin.
    • The word “ amphibians ” means 2 lives.
  • 10. What are some amphibians?
  • 11. Fish
    • Fish live in water.
    • They have fins to help them swim.
    • They have scales on their bodies.
    • They breathe with body parts called gills.
  • 12. What are some fish?
  • 13. Insects
    • Insects have three body parts.
    • They have six legs.
    • Most insects have hard
    • covers on their bodies.
    • Most insects also have wings.
  • 14. What are some insects?
  • 15. Arachnids
    • Arachnids have 2 body parts called the anterior and posterior.
    • Arachnids are not insects.
    • They do not have wings or antennae.
    • Almost all arachnids have 8 legs.
    • Spiders, scorpions, ticks and dust mites are all arachnids.

  • 17. What is the SAME about all these animals?
    • They are living things that
    • grow and change.
    • They need air, sun, food, and
    • water to live.
    • We need to take care of
    • them by caring for our planet.
