Most people don't understand the sheer volume of keyword searches within the
weight loss industry, so first things first, you need to understand why type of traffic
you are dealing with here.
These are monthly search numbers:
"diet" search volume: 24,900,000!!!!
"weight loss" search volume: 11,100,000
"obesity" search volume: 1,500,000

Let's take a look at exactly how to uncover the millions of search terms within this
industry which can then use for your article marketing and pay-per-click campaigns.

Step 1: Type in a "root" search term. Make sure you have the "Use synonyms" box
checked.
Here are some examples of terms you can start with.
-weight loss
-obesity
-diet
-hoodia
-fat loss
-carbs
-atkins
-slimmer
-calories
-food
-healthy
-lose weight
-exercise
-fitness
The keyword tool will give you a ton of relevant results.

Step 2: Take a term within the results and do another search on that term. For
example, our initial search was 'calories'. This search is "burning calories".
This yielded some very good an low competition search terms already:
how many calories do i burn
burn 500 calories
calories to burn a pound
foods that burn more calories
how many calories to burn a pound
activities that burn calories
easy way to burn calories
This literally took 5 seconds to do and we have already come up with 7 keywords
that we could create a landing page around or write 7 articles on (and we could
have listed many more keywords).
You can also dig down and find even more targeted keywords, but for the sake of
this, we are going to stop here. This is just one term out of many. Each of those root
keywords has 200 results, which can be dug down to 200 more results with another
subsequent search.
