Actually Finding Your Profitable Keywords
Now as I mentioned in the previous lesson, I prefer choosing a HOT product and then
basing my campaigns around what is already selling. This works in many ways, with the
main motivating factor that people are already making money within that niche, so there is
money to be made!
For this example I will use Clickbank as an example of how to find a product that is selling
well, with plenty of desperate buyers willing to pay for a solution to their problem. Of
course you are not limited to Clickbank, but if you are starting out, it is the best place to
start snooping around for a niche that is already pulling in profit for many.
Things to keep in mind when looking for a product to sell via Clickbank
• The amount of commission should be high. As a general rule of thumb, a minimum
of $20 per sale would be the minimum amount, but don't be scared to promote the
higher ticket items for $30... $40... and above in affiliate commissions.
• Gravity should also be high in Clickbank. The higher the gravity, the more people
selling the product as an affiliate. So as the gravity gets higher and higher, it also
means that more and more people are making money promoting that product...
meaning people are buying.
• Some products will have a standard product and then a back-end product once the
consumer commits to the purchase. This is called an up-sell or cross-sell and will
greatly increase the commission you earn on each sale, adding up very quickly.
As mentioned in the previous lesson, there are many ways to find out if a product is
selling. For instance, as a Wealthy Affiliate member, you have exclusive access to a
special tool that will do all the research for you... even letting you know of new products
that are becoming popular very quickly. This in depth analysis allows you to jump on the
bandwagon and very easily set-up your campaign in a hot niche, once you have
completed your keyword research.
In either case, pick a product or pick a popular and/or growing niche, then research the
appropriate buying keywords that you can develop a marketing campaign around. Let's
take a look at exactly what is involved, you know the theory... so let's put that into practice.

Step By Step Method To Finding The Perfect Keyword
Now that you have your main niche that you will be targeting, the next step is to break it
down and dig into the sub-niches to find your awesomeness that we spoke about before.
Your first step is to write down 5 keywords related to the niche that spring to your mind:
• Best Online Affiliate
• Online Career Education
• Find Online Job
• Google Online Jobs
• Online Work Opportunity
Now if it isn't blatantly obvious, I have chosen the “make money online” niche because
people are always looking to make extra money, especially during a global recession
as I write this. Choosing 5 general keywords gives you a better starting point than a vague
browsing term, now all you need to do is head on over to the Google Keyword Tool, and
start your research!
If you are not sure about your keyword attributes, go and revise the previous lesson which
explains exactly what you are looking for. The goal for you right now is to build a list of
keywords with a minimum search count of 2,000 per month, yes it will be time
consuming, but necessary if you want to succeed as an internet marketer and earn well
above the average wage, each and every month.
Obviously common sense will prevail and you can cheat a little by only noting down
keywords in an excel spreadsheet between 2,000 and 10,000 searches a month. The trick
is to find more obscure terms that are still related to buying/solutions/problems, with a
decent search count. Once you master this step, you're well on your way to creating a
profitable campaign in any HOT niche.
The next step you must master is to identify the competition for each keyword, once again
it's as easy as using Google to further your research. All you need to do is open up
Google, and then type each “keyword phrase” (including the quotation marks) into Google
to find your competition. This is essential to make sure that the competition isn't too high,
otherwise you won't be able to rank your website on page 1 of Google to get all that free
traffic we talked about.
Once again all the good attributes have been discussed in the previous lesson, but as a
reminder, no more than 10,000 “exact” competing pages places you well within reach
to dominate for that particular keyword. With practice, you'll be able to get an overall
picture of whether you can compete or not in less than a minute. It might take a little
getting used to, but thorough research is your best friend when it comes to launching
a profitable campaign.
Sometimes you won't find any keywords that will work, and other times you will have far
too many to choose from... in the latter, I simply note them all down and systematically
devise an action plan so I can incorporate all the profitable keywords into one or more
campaigns. This allows me to capture the maximum amount of traffic, for the least amount
of work, increasing my profit!

Alternative Route To Fast Track Your Keyword Research
Before I reveal the ONLY paid tool I have in my Internet marketing arsenal, one that I use
on a day to day basis, I want to make it perfectly clear that you don't need paid tools. This
is the only one I have invested in, and it has re-paid me tenfold, but don't get conned into
thinking that you do too... a lot of them are worthless, and the free way is just as good (just
takes a little more time).
The free method above works well enough, and is simple enough once you get into the
groove of things. That being said, you can speed up the whole process with this incredible
piece of software that I now use every day. It's called Micro Niche Finder, and while I'm not
going to show you just how easy it is to find keywords with the tool, let it be known that it
handles all aspects of your keyword research in a single swoop, should you decide to buy.
I only added this section because I know that so many of you are looking for a shortcut,
your emails complaining about the time it takes to do the proper keyword research said
enough. So rather than answering endless emails regarding the issue at hand, I thought
my time was better invested in adding a special section to the lessons... yes I am lazy and

Expand Your Keyword Research By Cashing In On Product Names
So before I let you run off into the woods and play, let me show you another quick method I
use to cash in on popular niches. This method is best when you get in early on a product
launch, and you may do so in any way shape or form. If you really want to get in early,

launch. It's not essential, but it sure helps knowing these things in advance so you can
plan your strategy of attack. Here is a short list of the benefits of targeting product names:
• High conversions from laser targeted visitors eager to buy.

These visitors are extremely likely to convert, and they do time and time again. Remember
our little chat about buying keywords, well... the consumer has already done all the
research and is on the verge of buying, so your job is to make the final pre-sell and point
them in the right direction in order for them to make a purchase, and solve whatever
problem they had in the first place.
Using Clickbank and targeting established products is extremely difficult in this case.
That's not a problem at all as there are millions of products on the market that you can use
this method for, and there are a million more to be launched... thus the benefit of signing

Now as the law of polar opposites suggests, there are certain negatives that you should be
aware about. A minority of merchants disallow this method, but that's no big deal as
most do allow it. The main problem is that your site is dependant on the product, unlike the
niche keyword approach where you can simply change the content, when a product is no
longer HOT, and update your site with the latest craze that people are just too eager to
throw money at. So choose your products wisely!
Remember, other affiliates will be promoting the product too, so it's the perfect combination
for you to jump in at the last minute and offer a bonus or an honest review (stay away from
fabricated reviews for the sole purpose of marketing)... and make the sale!

Get Busy Researching As There Is Money To Be Made
Before we conclude this lesson, I'd like to give you some variations that work well when
targeting product keywords. The age old rule of using buying keywords still applies, so in

search when they are in the buying phase of a typical “product purchase life-cycle”. There
are many more variations to this, but at least you have a starting point and can build from
