  • Who Was L.S Lowry?Laurence Stephen Lowry, born 1stNovember 1887-23rd February 1976 wasan English artist born is Stretford,Lancashire. He is mostly famous for hispaintings of industrial districts of NorthWest England and of the mid-20thcentury. He developed a distinctive styleof painting and his urban landscapeswith people also known as “matchstickmen”.

  • L.S Lowry is well famous for his industrialpaintings and his urban landscapes. He used a verybasic range of colours he mixed on his palette andpainted on the white background . “ If people callme a Sunday painter I’m a Sunday painter whopaints every day of the week. During his time thepublic said his paintings are childish.After his death he was famous for his artwork,which now is in the Lowry Museum, in SalfordQuays, Salford.
  • The Lowry Museum is located in Salford Quays, Salford.It is named after the 20th Century painter .L.S. Lowry,known for his paintings of the Industrial scenes in NorthWest England. It was officially opened in 12th October2000 by the Majesty Queen Elizabeth II!
