Goal<br />Create dynamic events, activities and programs through a community based program that effectively reaches families and educates parents about the importance of setting a positive healthy example for their kids.<br />The Alarming Statistics<br />The National Average for Overweight Children in America is 31% – 33%<br /> Ohio’s Average for Overage Children is 34%<br /> Children who are 10 years old and are overweight have an 80% risk of being obese as an adult. <br /> Obesity in children increases the risks of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, stroke, breast cancer, bone and joint problems, sleep apnea, mental disorders such as depression and low self esteem by 85%.<br /> Obesity Costs us $93 Billion a Year in America in Medical Bills plus …<br /> - $800.00 per year per employee with missed work<br /> - $275 million in extra jet fuel each year for the extra poundage<br /> - $1,000 per year per employee in medical costs<br />
