2. 2. The biggest problems we are facing today…1.2.3.4.5.
3. 3. GETTING BETTER
VS.
GETTING DIFFERENT
4. 4. BE A REVOLUTIONARY

Innovative thought about rewriting the reality of fraternity/sorority life on campus and beyond.

Most organizations fail to create the future not because they fail to predict it, but because they fail to imagine it
5. 5. BE YOUR OWN SEER

a voice of strategic opportunity and concept innovation

The goal is not to speculate on what MIGHT happen, but to imagine what you can actually MAKE happen.
6. 6. LIVE IN THE LAND OF “WHAT IF”
See over the horizon
Find the unconventional
Imagine the unimagined
7. 7. BE A NOVELTY ADDICT

Get off your behind
 8. 8. Search for new experiences
 9. 9. Go to new places
 10. 10. Learn new things
 11. 11. Reach out to new people

What you don’t know but could know is much more important than what you don’t know and can’t know.
12. 12. PROTECT YOUR CREATIVE TIME
You can’t invent radical new models if your attention has been smashed into minute-sized shards.
13. 13. IDENTIFY DISCONTINUITIES
Where is the world of fraternity and sorority out of alignment?
14. 14. BE A TREND SPOTTER

What’s happening in the world that will require us to react?

Let’s “pre-act” instead?
15. 15. BE A HERETIC
Don’t be afraid of opinions or ideas at variance with those generally accepted as authoritative
There is an enormous danger in viewing what’s changing through the lens of what already is.
Familiarity is the enemy
16. 16. ASK QUESTIONS
Why?
And then what?
What if?
17. 17. EMBRACE THE FUTURE

The problem with the future is not that it is unknowable. The problem with the future is that it is different.

If you are unable to think differently the future will
always arrive as a surprise.
18. 18. SURFACE THE DOGMAS
What are 10 things you would never hear somebody say about fraternities and sororities?
5
8
2
10
6
3
9
7
1
4
19. 19. BE A DAREDEVIL
If you insist on being incontrovertibly right, you will never be new. It’s that simple. The fear of being wrong is so strong that many people and organizations don’t search for new direction.
20. 20. GO TO EXTREMES
Pick a performance parameter, push it to the extremes, and ask, WHY NOT?
21. 21. BE AN ACTIVIST
Become an activist – not a wild-eyed revolutionary, bent on destroying your organization’s existing culture and values – but rather a positive force for change, supporting your organization’s core values while also building a convincing case for concept innovation.
22. 22. THE PICTURE IN FOCUS:

What are our best “what ifs”?
 23. 23. What are our most threatening discontinuities?
 24. 24. What trends are most likely to have the largest impact on us?
 25. 25. What “anti-dogmas” do we want to turn around?
 26. 26. What aspects of what’s changing can we come to understand better?
 27. 27. Where and in what ways is change creating the potential for new rules and new space?

NOW THINK
What revolutionary ideas do you want to move forward?
28. 28. CLOSING THOUGHTS
Do you care enough about your integrity to speak the truth and challenge the little lies that jeopardize your organization’s future?
Do you care enough about the future to argue with precedent and stick a thumb in the eye of tradition?
Do you care enough about the magnificent difference you can make in this fraternal world that you’re willing to try and change it with your all your being?
29. 29. CLOSING THOUGHTS
DO YOU CARE ENOUGH TO LEAD THE REVOLUTION?
30. 30. CLOSING THOUGHTS
Our heritage is no longer our destiny.
Our dreams are no longer fantasies, but realities.
You stand at the threshold of possibility.
Don’t Falter.
Don’t Hesitate.
You were given this opportunity for a reason.
Find it.
LEAD THE REVOLUTION!
