    1. Christianity 101 Congregation Benim Avraham Diocese of La Porte, Texas Christian Church, Synod of St. Timothy Part 2 Study
    2. To know the mind of God
      • We must know his word.
      • To know his word, we must read.
      • We should hear it preached.
      • We should meditate on it.
      • We should discuss it with other Christians.
    3. God’s Love Letter to us
      • When I was young, my father was a merchant marine sailor. Consequently, we did not see much of him, but I learned to know him and love him from the letters he sent from every port of call.
      • Similarly, the Bible is God’s love letter for us to come to know him as Father and obey him as Lord.
      • We come to know our heavenly Father through his word, the Bible.
    4. What the Bible says: (II Tim. 3)
      • 15 And that from a babe you have known the set apart scriptures, which are able to make you wise for deliverance through belief in Messiah Yehoshua (Jesus).
      • 16 All scripture is breathed (inspired)by Elohim (the Lord) and is profitable for teaching , for reproof , for setting straight , for instruction in righteousness.
      • 17 That the man of Elohim might be fitted , equipped for every good work .
    5. In other words:
      • Salvation comes from God’s word.
      • God’s word is for teaching.
      • God’s word is for correcting us.
      • God’s word puts us on the right path.
      • God’s word teaches us righteousness.
      • God’s word equips us for good works.
    6. Our Daily Bread
      • The average person eats three meals a day.
      • Sometimes they have snacks too.
      • If your body needs three meals a day to be healthy and satisfied, shouldn’t you feed your soul three times a day as well.
      • God’s word is food for the soul.
      • Three times a day is a good start.
