  • RSS as a key information mgmt tool -- reversing the direction of information flow from outgoing to incoming, without needing to plow through e-mail, etc.Setting up RSS feeds as soon as you know you have a research project allows the results to build automatically, and can bail out the procrastinator.
  • MJ-show students mechanics of proquest search and plugging a feed into their reader
  • Google News can generate RSS feeds from any search -- show students some of the features of GNews advanced search.
  • As we're going through the Anatomy of a Reader, have the students add some feedsStudents should add:1. A feed from ProQuest2. A feed of personal interest3. A feed for a standard Google News search
