  • The Loan Officers Association Nationwide (LOAN) is a (fictional) professional society with 25,000 members across the country. LOAN is tasked with protecting the interests of its members—at both the federal and state levels—during a time of tremendous reform in financial regulation. Of the 25 LOAN staff members, only three are involved in the day-to-day advocacy efforts in the Washington, DC office. The average age of LOAN members is 42, and they tend to be conservative with their use of social media in the workplace—with some member’s employers blocking Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, and Flickr.
