  • 1. Poetry Project-Due: __________
    • Poetry Project Requirements: Your poetry project will count as a test/project grade. You need to do your best. Don’t forget the following: color your project, neatness counts, follow directions, include correct punctuation, capitalization, grammar, and original examples.
    • Page 1 (Cover): Create an acrostic poem using your name—10 points
    • Page 2: Write two original similes—5 points
    • Page 3: Write two original metaphors—5 points
    • Page 4: Write an alliteration, and include a picture—5 points
    • Page 5: Write a sentence using an onomatopoeia, and draw a picture to accompany it—5 points
    • Page 6: Write an idiom, and include a picture—5 points
  • 2. Poetry Project-Continued
    • Page 7: Write a sentence using personification and a sentence using hyperbole (these should be two separate sentences)—10 points
    • Page 8: Create a concrete poem—10 points
    • Page 9: Write an autobiographical poem—10 points
    • Page 10: Write a haiku, and draw a picture to accompany the poem—10 points
    • Page 11: Write a diamonte poem—10 points
    • Page 12: Copy the poem “Dreams” –10 points (5 for copying the poem correctly, and 5 for reciting it)
    • Quality of work—5 points
    • Remember, this is a TEST/PROJECT GRADE.
    • Your best work is expected! Accuracy and Neatness count! Plan out what you are going to do before you write in your booklet. You will not get another booklet!
