  • 2. Wood window repair steps:  Carefully remove window sash stop on one side  Rotate sash into room to expose the hidden door at bottom of jamb
  • 3. Wood window repair steps:  Pull out weight from pocket in jamb  Examine knot in order to copy the style
  • 4. Wood window repair steps:  Remove and replace sash cord with new knotted cord in the channel in the side of the sash  Thread cord through the pulley
  • 5. Wood window repair steps:  Re-tie the cord to the sash weight  Replace weight in pocket in the jamb  Replace cover of hidden door
  • 6. Wood window repair steps:  Replace window stop with small finish nails  Re-caulk and touch up paint on window stop and trim joint
  • 7. Wood window repair steps:  Replace window stop with small finish nails  Re-caulk and touch up paint on window stop and trim joint
