A meaningful life A meaningful life Presentation Transcript

    • A Meaningful Life“Now and forever”You can find real meaning in life even now. How?By following the sound principles found in God’s Word, the Bible.Let us examine just a few of them.
    • “There is nothing better,” wrote King Solomon, than that aman “should eat and indeed drink and cause his soul to seegood because of his hard work.”– ECCLESIATES 2:24We were made to find satisfaction in wholesome work. Even inthe direst of circumstances, we can still enjoy a measure ofsatisfaction in life right now from working diligently and honestly.
    • “There is more happiness in giving than there is inreceiving” – ACTS 20:35Many have found that doing things for others – giving of theirtime and energy to assist others in times of difficulty, forexample – has proved to be extremely rewarding and has addedreal meaning to their lives.“Do not hold back good from those to whom it owes,” wroteSolomon, “when it happens to be in the power of your hand todo it.” – Proverbs 3:27.
    • “A true companion is loving all the time, and is a brotherthat is born for when there is distress.” – PROVERBS 17:17Shared troubles can be much easier to bear.English essayist Francis Bacon wrote that those without truefriends, “the word is but a wilderness.”Having true friends – and being a good friend can make lifemore bearable for you; it can be beautiful and satisfying.
    • “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.” –MATTHEW 5:3Jesus thus identified a vital requirement if you want to enjoy thefulfillment of God’s promises – recognize and fill your “spiritualneed”. Unlike animals, we have an innate need to understandthe meaning and purpose of life.Only Jehovah God can fill that need, and he does so through hisWord, the Bible. As we saw in the proceeding article, the biblereveals God’s purpose for the Earth. It tells us why we are here, why is there so much suffering andwhat God expects from us. Understanding scriptural truth isessential to our living a meaningful and satisfying life. Those who make time to study the bible and apply what theylearn are happy. why? Because they hereby build a trustingrelationship with our Creator, “the happy God”, Jehovah. – 1Timothy 1:11.
    • “Remember your Creator…..before the time of trouble comesand the years draw near when you will say, ‘I see nopurpose in them’. – ECCLESIATES 12:1King Solomon’s advice to young people, who may for a time failto recognize the tragedies that life can bring, is relevant for all ofus.Make your creator the focus of your life. That is what will giveyour life real purpose. If you put God first, things “will turn out well” for you, saysEcclesiastes 8:12.
    • Loyalty to God makes Life Meaningful
    • Building a good relationship with Jehovah can add meaning toyour life in a very special way. How?Not only did Satan lead Adam and Eve into rebellion againstGod’s rule but he also implied that no one would remain loyal toGod under test. (Job 1:9-11; 2:4)We can help to prove Satan a liar! How?By remaining loyal to God, by sticking to his principles, and bydemonstrating that you recognize Jehovah’s supreme right todetermine for us what is good and what is bad.– Revelation 4:11.
    • We may have to endure challenges if we want to pursue anupright course. Will those challenges rob us of a meaningful life?Well, imagine that a vicious enemy is slandering our belovedfriend or family member. If defending that dear person’s name caused us would somehardship at the hands of our enemy, would that rob us ameaningful life?Of course not! We would gladly endure hardship for such acause. It is the same with remaining loyal to God.Our loyalty under current evil conditions actually makes God’sheart rejoice. Proverbs 27:11.
    • A Meaningful Life ForeverRight of this moment let’s make it to our aim to learn allwe can about God and his purpose.Jesus Christ himself said: “This means everlasting life, theirtaking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of theone whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3)When God fulfills his original purpose for the earth, faithfulhumans will enjoy what Jehovah originally intended forthem – “everlasting life” on a paradise earth. Then life will truly be meaningful and satisfying. – Psalm145:16.
    • Where can you find the knowledge that Jesus talk about? In the pages of God’s inspired word, the Bible. If you would like assistance in studying the Bible, feel free towrite and get the nearest address in your location form theJehovah’s Witnesses website www.watchtower.org.They will gladly arrange for someone to help you learn what theBible really teaches.
    • about the authorSOURCE
    • • “I am studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses from the Philippines for three (3) years and my knowledge of the Bible has been widened and I am awakened so much of the ‘real’ truth that I should have known since I was born.• I am 20 years of age. We were able to study with them before when was in grade school but it wasn’t able to continue when we transfer to our second house. The religion of Boss of my Father is Jehovah’s Witnesses.
    • • After my Father’s Death, they gave us a small leaflet on how to cope with the stress brought when a loved one dies.• There was another publication and at the back of is a request slip for a book entitled” what does the bible really teach?” I was interested in the book and I filled up the form and send to the appropriate address.
    • • And that’s how I received a visit from the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Their publication and magazines help me a lot to enrich myself and my family the true meaning of our existence.• Currently I and my mother are the ones who study with them every Sunday morning and in the afternoon I attended their meetings in their Kingdom Hall near our vicinity.• I am still a Catholic but studying with them helped me in the hardest times of my life especially since my Father’s Death.”
