This document discusses the development of Gandharv, a tool to facilitate collaborative music composition. It introduces Gandharv and its aims, discusses findings from interviews and surveys of music enthusiasts about their needs, and outlines key requirements and features identified. These include the ability to search for composers, launch collaborative sessions, provide feedback, and include effects like scaling and tempo alteration. The document then describes the implementation of features in a prototype and plans for future work, such as tracking member contributions and adding special effects.

5. Findings
The
following
are
the
findings
of
the
study
that
helped
us
in
designing
a
detailed
architecture
of
our
applica(on:
• Co-‐Presence

an
important
aspect

in
a
group.
• Feedback
while
composi(on
is
an
important
step
of
collabora(ve

• The
ar(sts
must
understand
the
blueprint
of
the
song.
• Applica(on
should
be
simple
to
use
and
self-‐explanatory.
• Advanced
Search

should
be
present.
• .
To

• Ar(sts
get

The
applica(on
must
assist

by
these
conven(ons.
• As
phone

s(ll
are
among
the
major
forms
by
which
sharing
happen,
so
the
applica(on
must
provide
that

as
well.
• Features
