    • Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds.
    • It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
    • Simple GUI allows for easy to use by students and adults alike.
  • Click the button with the small red circle when you are ready to record audio
  • Click the button with the two blue vertical lines to pause during recording. To begin recording again press pause a second time.
  • Click the button with the green triangle to listen to a playback of the recording
  •  
  • Use the Selection Tool Button to delete portions the audio Highlight the area you wish to delete. Use the backspace or delete button to remove.
  •  
  • Export the recording as an mp3 file
  • Save the file on your flash drive, network drive or hard drive
  • You MUST download the LAME Encoder to export as an mp3. Locate where the lame3.dll is located.
