  • 14. Pronoun What are they? A word which takes the place of a noun is called a pronoun.
  • 15. Pronoun Personal Pronouns Subject or personal pronouns are placed in front of the verb (or in the subject part of the sentence). Notice that “he” is used for the masculine and “she” is used for the feminine.
