  • Pros ( 贊成 ) and Cons ( 反對 ) Grandpa may feel lonely Grandpa can live with the family It may be expensive to employ a domestic helper

  • Can you solve the problem? Has the financial burden of the family increased?
  • Useful Vocabulary
    • filial piety ( 孝道 ) e.g. Chinese people stress filial piety.
    • dutiful ( 盡責 ) e.g. Mr. and Mrs. Chan are dutiful parents, they take care of their children well.
    • lonely ( 孤獨 ) e.g. Mrs. Wong feels very sad and lonely.
    • living environment/ condition ( 居住環境 ) e.g. The living environment/ condition of poor people is bad.
    • used to / accustom ( 習慣 ) e.g. I used to live on my own./ I am not accustomed to live with other people.
  • Useful Vocabulary
    • temper ( 脾氣 ) e.g. My grandfather has bad temper.
    • his/her own wish ( 他 / 她的意願 ) e.g. Living in the Home for Elderly is grandmother’s own wish.
    • financial burden ( 經濟負擔 )

    • moral ( 道德 ) / immoral ( 不道德 )
    • harmony ( 融洽 )
