    Music Words
  • 2. harp
    A stringed musical instrument played by plucking the strings.
  • 3. composer
    A person who composes.
    In music, a composer is someone who writes music
  • 4. fiddle
    A stringed instrument played with a bow. Also known as a violin.
  • 5. trumpet
    A brass instrument, or horn.
  • 6. classical
    of, pertaining to, or constituting the formally and artistically more sophisticated and enduring types of music.
    Classical music includes symphonies, operas, sonatas, song cycles, andlieder.
  • 7. conductor
    The leader of an orchestra, symphony, or band.
  • 8. concert
    A public musical performance
  • 9. jazz
    Music originating in New Orleans around the beginning of the 20th century, (the 1900s)
    Unlike other types of music, jazz was invented in the U.S.A.
  • 10. clarinet
    A woodwind instrument
  • 11. banjo
    A string instrument, most often used in bluegrass music.
  • 12. bugle
    A horn that usually doesn’t have keys.
    Usually used for sounding military signals.
  • 13. harmony
    In music- any combination of chords or notes being played (or sung) at the same time.
    In general- agreement, accord

    A piano player
  • 15. performance
    amusical,dramatic, or other entertainment presented before anaudience.
  • 16. violin
    A string instrument played with a bow. Sometimes called a fiddle.

    A practice session for musicians.
