PASSIVE VOICE PRACTICE STAGE
Practice 1
Read the following text about the process of making a coin. Look at the pictures
and read the text, then write an “A” in the parentheses if the sentence is in Active
Voice or a “P” if it is in Passive Voice.
a) First of all, an artist designs the new coin (......)
and then, the design is sent to the mint (......) – the
“mint” is the place where coins are made (......)
b) At the mint, a machine copies the design onto
two blocks of steel (......) – they are called “dies”.
c) Right now, coins are made of a mixture of
metals. (.......)
d) A machine cuts out the sheets of metal into
small discs (.......) and,
e) ...the discs are pressed between the dies (.....)
the dies leaves their pattern on the discs (.......)
Finally, the coins are inspected (.......) and if
everything is OK they are sent to the bank (.....)
