Never during class reading or instructions </li></ul><ul><li>8-8:45 - Morning Blog sbta1.blogspot.com </li></ul><ul><li>USE new voc percent, involve, interpret </li></ul><ul><li>Silent reading of newspaper articles only. Students are not allowed to do anything other than silent reading. around 8:30, students will be able to start typing & visit the blogspot website and post their summary and reflections </li></ul><ul><li>8:45-11 Us. History & Civics ( Mr. D) ( jenny works on her english) ( Jose works on Senior project </li></ul><ul><li>(ixel, hector, shannon, cristina, j, tasha, javier, jorge, angel) . </li></ul><ul><li>Get in a circle in the back of the room! Read with group, everyone takes turn reading p. 384- 389 A Bloody Conflict </li></ul><ul><li>During reading ask some review questions to the students </li></ul><ul><li>After group reading students work individually -answer Reading connections & reading checks </li></ul><ul><li>All voc and terms defined & Section assessment p. 389 1-7 complete sentences </li></ul><ul><li>Civics ( jesus, jordache, Jr, matt, Michael, manny, Perla) </li></ul><ul><li>Students work independently on Chapter 16 studyguide ( no talking, no videos) Suspend if they are watching videos or any sort !! </li></ul><ul><li>After studyguide -go on civic1984.blogspot.com and get other assignments </li></ul><ul><li>11-11:15BREAK ( ask Ixel to separate foods ) </li></ul>

Monday 11-17-08 <ul><li>11:15- 1:00 ENGLISH all students ( jose & jesus works on Senior project ) </li></ul><ul><li>Tell Everyone turns monitor off. </li></ul><ul><li>Pass out Line paper to each student </li></ul><ul><li>Pass out article “ the History of apartheid in South Africa” & UpFront “ whose Side are you?” </li></ul><ul><li>Tell students to open Upfront mag and turn to p. 15 Look at photo of town </li></ul><ul><li>Quick write- give them 10 minutes to write </li></ul><ul><li>After looking at the picture, On their line paper- Write 8 sentences paragraph </li></ul><ul><li>Where was this photo taken? What might you find if you entered one of these homes? Describe to me in detail. What words or phases come to mind when you look at this photo? Where else might you find similar conditions? What kinds of things can be done to help poor people around the world? </li></ul><ul><li>Call on 4-5 people to share their quickwrite </li></ul><ul><li>As a whole class please Read with them The History of Apartheid in South Africa </li></ul><ul><li>Read Apartheid background </li></ul><ul><li>Talk about what apartheid means. Use Upfront mag. Read p. 14-17 Beyond Apartheid </li></ul><ul><li>After reading pass out the South Africa’s Long journey Questions </li></ul><ul><li>Students will quietly at their own computers and type up their answers on their powerpoint </li></ul><ul><li>Visit the website www.apartheidmuseum.com and write down 5 things that are interesting from the website. Explain what it is. </li></ul><ul><li>1:00-1:30 Lunch </li></ul>

Monday 11-17-08 after lunch <ul><li>1:30 -2:30 Economics </li></ul><ul><li>Everyone else needs to finish their Economics packet. </li></ul><ul><li>Jordache, perla, jr Work on independent work. Jose & jesus(leaves early), </li></ul><ul><li>Shannon in small room working on health book </li></ul><ul><li>If they are finish with their economics they can finish History or English </li></ul><ul><li>You can always add an article from the news for them to read if they are not on task or complaining!! </li></ul><ul><li>Detention 2:30-3:30 all students who came in after 7:55 </li></ul><ul><li>CLEAN up desk area before leaving </li></ul>
