  3. 3. Delicious Drinks <ul><li>Delicious Drinks have been in the </li></ul><ul><li>Soft drinks manufacturing industry for </li></ul><ul><li>10 years. The managing director has </li></ul><ul><li>decided the company need to move </li></ul><ul><li>with the times and would like to create </li></ul><ul><li>a new drinks range to attract more </li></ul><ul><li>customers. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>How will the four </li></ul><ul><li>functional areas in </li></ul><ul><li>the company play a </li></ul><ul><li>vital role in </li></ul><ul><li>contributing to </li></ul><ul><li>the new product? </li></ul>Any ideas?
  5. 5. Sales Department <ul><li>Miss Berry, the Sales Manager has decided the new product range will be healthy smoothie drinks. </li></ul><ul><li>The sales team have decided to advertise the new product range in the Rutherglen Reformer using a poster they have designed. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Purchases Department <ul><li>Miss Berry has negotiated with a local supermarket who have agreed to sell the new smoothie range. </li></ul><ul><li>Miss Berry has been working with Mr Currency to decide on the selling price for the new range. </li></ul><ul><li>The purchases manager Mr Buyer will have to order in the correct amount of raw materials to make the estimated sales figures. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Finance Department <ul><li>Mr Currency and the staff in the finance department will have to invoice the order to the supermarket. </li></ul><ul><li>They will also be responsible to check the supermarket pay for their order in the agreed terms. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Human Resources (HR) <ul><li>Due to the increase in demand for the new product range Miss Trainer the HR manager has spoken to the company director about staff recruitment. </li></ul><ul><li>Miss Trainer will also be responsible for staff welfare and training. The new staff will need to be fully trained in the company. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Task 2 <ul><li>Miss Berry has worked with Mr Currency to calculate the prices for the new smoothie range.   11. 11. <ul><li>Increase the size of the spreadsheet heading and column headings to 14. </li></ul><ul><li>Format the COST, MARK UP and SELLING PRICE as currency. </li></ul><ul><li>The mark up for an ordinary smoothie is 30%. </li></ul><ul><li>The mark up for any mixed fruit smoothie is 40% </li></ul><ul><li>The mark up may change, depending on the sales. </li></ul><ul><li>Use formulae to calculate the Mark Up and Selling Price. </li></ul><ul><li>Print your spreadsheet with gridlines and formula showing. </li></ul>
