  • 7. Remember to type last name comma firstname! This works best in many types ofsearches.
  • 8. Take about 1 minute to talk with the person next to you about the following questions. Write brief answers in your notes.1. Why might using a print book be better than using the Internet or a database for this project?1. What are the advantages of using an online sources rather than a book?
  • 9.  Find “Gale PowerSearch” on your bookmark Circle the web address : secondary.oslis.org Draw a box around the login and password
  • 10. E. Usetools toprint,email, citesources,translateor listen
  • 11. Note how first paragraph most importantaccomplishments, then moves to focusing on eachstage of his life in longer sections.
  • 12. Use boldsubheadingsto findsections oneach part ofa person’slife
  • 13. Also try magazine articles, but remember that it’shelpful to limit by subject and article type (biography)
  • 14.  Turn to the person next to you. Figure out whose birthday happens first this year. The person with the first birthday will explain to the other how to find a biographical article in Gale PowerSearch or how to find a library book Describe at least 4 steps. You may use your notes (letter B for books, D for databases)
