About Lois LowryBorn on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.Birthday is March 20th 1937.Her parents were Robert and Katherine Hammersberg.She is has an older sister named Helen and a youngerbrother named Jon.Lowry lived all over the world because her father was anarmy dentist.Growing up Lowry liked to be on her own in a “world ofbooks.”Her dream as a child was to write books professionally.
About Lois Lowry Continued Lois went to Brown University but dropped out after sophomore year when she got married to a naval officer at the age of 19. After having five children Lois returned to college and got her bachelors degree. She continued on to graduate school. Lowry’s writing career took off after grad School. Lowry’s books center around one centralTheme: the importance of human connections.
