Technology Use <ul><li>Utilizing technological tools. </li></ul><ul><li>The technology being used plays a secondary role as opposed to the curriculum, which plays the primary role </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Ex: Using the overhead projector in a math lesson to display the grouping worksheet. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>The technology can be used by the students or teacher, but the activity is not dependent on the technology. </li></ul>

Examples of Technology Use <ul><li>A teacher or student using the internet to research a topic </li></ul><ul><li>The teacher using a computer to keep track of grades </li></ul><ul><li>Students listening to CD’s during reading time </li></ul><ul><li>Students watching a movie as a supplement to a unit. </li></ul>

Technology Integration <ul><li>According to National Forum on Education Statistics technology integration… </li></ul><ul><ul><li>&quot;is the incorporation of technology resources and technology-based practices into the daily routines, work, and management of schools“ </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>What does this mean? </li></ul></ul>
  6. 6. Technology Integration Cont’d <ul><li>The lesson is dependent upon and/or built around technology. </li></ul><ul><li>Using technology so regularly that is becomes a part of the classrooms routine. </li></ul><ul><li>Equally important as the content </li></ul>
