Global Warming by Adriana Jiminez

  1. 1. Global Warming Crisis By Adriana Jimenez
  2. 2. Energy relates to global warming because that’s what everything in this world uses. People use energy, animals use energy, plants use energy, and items use energy! Energy is affecting this world because we are using too much and we need to stop.
  3. 3. Causes One of the main causes of global warming relating to energy is the damage we did to the o-zone years before and all the CO2 we keep adding.
  4. 4. The ozone layer in the stratosphere (about 12-45 km above the ground) shields the Earth's surface from the Sun's damaging ultraviolet (UV-B) rays. Exposure to increased UV-B radiation at the Earth's surface is known to result in skin cancer, and unpredictable damage to plants, algae, the food chain and the global ecosystem. http://www.un.org/earthwatch/atmosphere/ozonedepletion.html
  5. 5. In cities across the globe, the personal automobile is the single greatest polluter, as emissions from a billion vehicles on the road add up to a planet-wide problem. Driving a private car is a typical citizen's most air polluting activity. The negative effects of automotive emissions are maximum when you sit in traffic surrounded by cars, their engines idling. http://www.nutramed.com/environment/carsepa.htm
  6. 8. Solutions There are many solutions we can do, but the problem is that no one believes global warming is existing. For example, did any of you do Earth Hour on the 28 th of March?
  7. 9. <ul><li>Solutions we can do include: </li></ul><ul><li>turn off the lights in a room when you’re not in there </li></ul><ul><li>open the windows and doors when it’s hot/ when you need extra light </li></ul><ul><li>plant a tree! </li></ul><ul><li>inform people </li></ul>
