    3. The Learning Model
      • In Computer Clubhouses, the acquisition of technical fluency or content knowledge, is embedded in a design-based process that engages youth in creative play and self-expression through the use of technology AND their learning community .
    4. Design-Based Process The Learning Model

    9. Research Methodology
      • Data is collected in situ of each licensed Computer Clubhouse, and reported on locally and comparative analysis & trends over all Clubhouse globally
      • Youth sign into a data-base each time they enter and leave the Clubhouse
        • Profile contains demographic, & profile data on each Clubhouse member
      • Online survey conducted with youth 6 th monthly for 2006-2008, annually 2008-2009
    10. Results
      • Some highlights ……..
Sadly educational reform, has often meant educators have attempted to get better at doing the same stuff that has failed. Frankly I don’t think it is rocket science our youth would do well in school – including the hallowed hallmarks of literacy and numeracy when they are engaged, valued and dare I say are actually happy!
    11. Discussion
      • IMPACT
      • Research shows that the Computer Clubhouse Learning model promotes educational engagement, social/cultural capital and a multi-intelligence approach to learning:
        • Youth that are engaged learners stay in school. Research indicates benefits for both the long term labour force (Creative Arts/ ICT) and the social development of the individual and wider community
        • Nations like NZ have an equal footing in the digital market place for creating 21 st Century thinkers. The Computer Clubhouse’s proven learning model is doing just that.
