  • 1. G.L.O.B.E. Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment. The GLOBE Program is a worldwide hands-on, primary and secondary school-based science and education program.
  • 2. Who is involved in GLOBE?
    • Announced in 1994, GLOBE began operations on Earth Day 1995. Today, the international GLOBE network has grown to include representatives from 110 participating counties.
    • There are more than 40000 GLOBE-trained teachers representing over 20000 schools around the world.
    • GLOBE students have contributed more than 18 million measurements to the GLOBE database for use in their inquiry-based science projects.
    • GLOBE brings together students, teachers and scientists through the GLOBE Schools Network in support of student learning and research.
  • 3. GLOBE Vision
    • A worldwide community of students, teachers, scientists, and citizens working together to better understand, sustain, and improve Earth's environment at local, regional, and global scales.
  • 4. GLOBE Mission
    • To promote the teaching and learning of science, enhance environmental literacy and stewardship, and promote scientific discovery.
  • 5. Goals Improve student achievement across the curriculum with a focus on student research in environmental and Earth system science; Enhance awareness and support activities of individuals throughout the world to benefit the environment; Contribute to scientific understanding of Earth as a system; Inspire the next generation of global scientists.
