  • 2. Computer and Internet Access
    • All responses were anonymous to ensure high level of accuracy.
    • 215 year 11s responded.
    • 99% now have Internet access at home.
    • 96% have broadband access at home.
    • 50% have their own computer/laptop.
    • 40% of shared access users have unlimited access.
  • 3. Navigating & Using the Gateway
    • 98% of students said they would use the Gateway as part of their revision programme.
    • 62% said this usage would be regular or frequent.
    • 95% of students described their ability to navigate the Gateway as average or above.
    • 73% said navigation was good or excellent.
  • 4. Gateway and the Public Drive
    • Only 46% of year 11 students say they have ever used the public drive to access revision materials
    • 94% of students thought the Gateway was an easier method of accessing revision resources.
  • 5. What would they add?
    • 83% of students would like a space on each Gateway to add their revision resources.
    • 38% would like to see gateways from all subjects.
    • More interactivity- work they could complete and send to their teachers for feedback.
  • 6. What would stop them using the Gateway?
    • ‘ Only death itself!’

    • Looking at the first 60 days of Gateway
    • usage we can start to draw some tentative
    • conclusions which focus on:
    • Gender
    • Ability/Prior Attainment
    • Effort
  • 8. Revision Gateway Usage
    • 228 year 11 students regularly accessed the revision gateway up until study leave.
    • Splitting the students into 3 equal thirds and averaging their usage is interesting!
    • 76 Students viewed 144 pages each on average
    • 76 Students viewed 277 pages each on average
    • 76 students viewed 562 pages each on average.
  • 9. Revision Gateway Usage
    • From this we can identify three types of
    • users.
    • Very High Users
    • High Users
    • Moderate Users
  • 10. Gender and Usage
    • Very High Users 80% are boys 20% Girls
    • High Users 60% are boys 40% Girls
    • Moderate Users 77% are girls 23% boys
  • 11. Prior Attainment and Usage
    • Very High Users Have an average 555 in
    • their KS3 SATs
    • High Users Have an average 655 in their KS3 SATs
    • Moderate Users Have an average 665 in their KS3 SATs
  • 12. Effort Grades and Usage
    • All 3 groups averaged effort grades of 3.3.
    • Overall we can start to draw a conclusion that boys on the c/d borderline are the heaviest users of the gateway.
