A structured routine for conducting PDCA experiments -- and for acquiring new habits of thinking and acting -- that anyone can use right now.

This SlideShare shows you how to use the PDCA CYCLES RECORD + the FIVE COACHING KATA QUESTIONS and includes two short instructional videos.

This is about repeated, coached practice of structured Improvement Kata & Coaching Kata routines, as a means for developing more systematic & scientific skills, mindset and culture.

  • Hi, dear colleagues. It is really unbeliavable how Mike makes difficult things simple. It is not only a perfect example of lean approach behaviour, it is also the real Coach behaviour. Thank you, Mike, for the openness of the very valuable information.

  • Mike the team is having some acceptance to this process. It is a slow process as they seem to be slow to make the acceptance. However i will keep practicing for perfection. Your video really helps them grasp the big picture.

  • Hi Christian,
Thank you for looking at the SlideShare and for your comment. I agree. This SlideShare isn't trying to present coaching. The intent is to share an uncomplicated practice routine for conducting better experiments on the way to a target condition, as a 'mini kata' for people to play with. An interesting place to start... perhaps. I should make that clearer! Much more detail on coaching the Improvement Kata is available in the online Improvement Kata Handbook, but even that doesn't substitute for an experienced coach.

I'm not on LinkedIn but you may enjoy communicating with some of the following persons in Denmark who are interested and even active on the topic of the Improvement Kata and Coaching Kata: Niels Fester, Egon Kjær Jensen, Henrik Blichfeldt, Charlotte Pedersen, Mads Bruun Larsen.
