    • The Connected Employee
    • Community is a place for
    • you and your work friends
    • and colleagues to:
    • Explain who you are and what you do
    • Share what you know
    • Make new contacts
    • And work together

    • Most new members first arrive to the Home page of
    • the community at http://community/ reedelsevier.com .
  • 4.
    • To visit your personal
    • page, look to the upper
    • right of the home page
    • and click on your name
    • link.
  • 5.
    • The personal page contains your personal profile and
    • links useful to you.
  • 6.
    • To edit your personal
    • page profile click on the
    • Edit link next to your
    • name at the top right of
    • the page.
  • 7.
    • You will see three tabs. Each
    • tab contains different items
    • of information for you to
    • complete.
    • NB: The Name field is under the Profile Options tab

    • The Private Email field is under the Site Options tab is near the bottom of the page.
    • Go to the Email Configuration area and fill in the Private email field with your work email address. This allows you to receive alerts and messages from friends and colleagues.

    • To add friends to your
    • personal page, go back to
    • the Home page.
    • Under the Links section
    • on the upper right side of
    • the page, click on the
    • View all users link.
  • 10.
    • To search for a friend,
    • enter the first few letters
    • of their surname and click
    • Search (use an asterisk
    • as a wildcard).
    • Click on the person’s
    • name or avatar you want
    • from the search results at
    • the bottom of the page.

    • You will be taken to their
    • personal page where you
    • can then click on the Add
    • to Friends link beneath
    • their avatar.
    • Their avatar will now
    • appear on your personal
    • page Friends area.

    • Groups are mini-communities
    • of interest. They each have
    • blogs, wikis, forums and
    • media galleries. Most are free
    • to join.
    • All groups are shown within
    • the group categories at
    • the bottom of the page.

    • To find out about the
    • latest community news,
    • go to the Home page and
    • click on the What’s
    • Happening link under
    • your avatar.
    • The page also has many
    • links to guidance for new
    • members.
  • 14.
    • If you need to find help,
    • click on the Getting Started
    • Here (Help) link, or on the
    • Wikis link, and then on the
    • Site Help wiki link.

    • articles to help members
    • understand all areas of
    • the community.
