Ways in which my media product Use, development or conventions of real media products One of the ways was the barcode and pricing on my magazine, this will make it more realistic I have also taken photos which are completely my own, meaning that no other magazine would have them.
How are particular social groups represented. Throughout my media work I have made my media product into a magazine for fans of metal, screamo and punk, I have done this through colouring, fonts and content. For example for colouring I have decided to go with darker colours focusing on such colours as red and black, which in my questionnaire people preferred.
What kind of media institution might distribute this media product and why? I feel that shops such as HMV or other music stores would distribute this media product as it shows items that they would sell and would help boost there sales i also believe places such as ordinary supermarkets or newsagents such as Tesco, Asda or WHSmiths would sell them as they do a large variety of magazines in them. And finally you also have the internet where you can subscribe to a particular magazine.
Who would be the audience for your media project? This would be anyone that enjoys metal, emo or punk music, it may also attract people from other genres to find out about the type of music.
How I attracted my target audience I did it in the most simple way but asking them the type of music they listening to and telling them they may enjoy trying this magazine. I also started by giving the first issue of my magazine for cheaper.
What I learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I have gained a better understanding of how to produce a magazine using the Serif program I have learnt to produce a magazine at a professional level.
By looking back at my preliminary tasks I feel that I have made progression in that: I am now able to make my magazine to a more professional level. I have also been able to improve my knowledge of how to use the program Serif in a more productive manor.
