  • 1. There are three types of poster: Some films bring out teaser posters. As the name suggests, they are designed to tease. To whet your appetite, without giving too much away. All films have a main poster. This carries all the vital information about a film and gives a clearer idea of what the film is actually about. Sometimes, a third poster appears. On this type of poster words become more important than images. They carry recommendations made by the critics, reassuring anyone who might be considering seeing the film. These posters may often accompany the DVD release. When researching film posters what kind of questions can you ask? What elements of the film are represented in the poster? How can you do preliminary research before beginning your own poster?
