  • Two types of Tundra are Alpine Tundra and Arctic Tundra.
  • Arctic Tundra is a cold, vast, treeless area of low, swampy plains in the far north around the Arctic Ocean.
  • The Arctic Tundra can be found in Europe in Lapland and Scandinavia, Asia in Siberia, and North America in Alaska and Canada.
  • The Alpine Tundra is treeless because of high elevation rather than high altitude.
  • The Alpine Tundra is treeless because of high elevation rather than high altitude.
  • Permafrost is a frozen layer of soil that stays frozen all the time.
  • Three kinds of animals that live in the Arctic Tundra are polar bears, Arctic Foxes, and caribou.
