      • Increase in support for mainstream vocational students
        • 19B CAVSS and other classes delivered for mainstream students - tutorial support ,
        • 19E SCH delivered to support students concurrently undertaking mainstream programs
      • Increase in number of vocational focus areas embedded within bridging programs
        • WOW with focus in Community Services, Business, Beauty Therapy Engineering , Horticulture, Warehousing and Distribution, Animal Care
        • NOW, employment preparation programs, short courses
      • Increase in fee for service
        • accredited ESL classes for people not eligible for Profile classes, particularly 457 visa holder migrant workers in skill shortage areas
        • ESL Profile funded classes topped up with fee for service enrolments for international students
        • Adult education ESL classes for migrant workers – Austal & Henderson

      • Workforce Special Initiative model resulted in
      • 8 different projects TOTAL 37,250 sch in 2007
      • Ongoing success of the CAVSS model, increasing from 4,500 sch S107, to 10,500sch S207, to 34,000sch S108
      • Existing Profile delivery at 64% of the year’s target
      • Embedding new ways of working that lead
      • to Process and Performance improvements
        • Section Leadership forums
        • Lecturer skills in translating funding into delivery
        • Wider product knowledge
        • Marketing strategies for the full suite of products (website, wiki)
        • Developing Feedback systems that identify and respond to
        • continuous improvement requirements
    13. Why did the 4 th Paradigm special initiative process work?
      • Our market context was changing and we needed to change
      • Change the way we do business or lose business and working life as we know it
      • It gave us the freedom to come up with innovative solutions
      • Identify what needs to be done, who needs to do It
      • “ Material resources are finite but intellectual capital is unlimited”

      • It gave us the opportunity to send out a search party
      • Embracing the 4th paradigm was a whole of college goal but the Special Initiative Project gave us the funding and time as a section

        • full throttle to achieve the goal

        • Networking, Section Leadership forums, communicating, reflecting
      • Invest more in knowledge, skills, imagination and learning capability.
        • High levels of individualised people development
      • Set new standards of excellence and inclusion for participation and learning outcomes.
        • Securing additional funding for growth activities, Continuous Improvement Project
      • Design new forms of institutions through collaboration to provide services and support.
        • CAVSS, YARP, YPAVE Transition Officers
      • Build infrastructure which integrates services and encourages shared community use.
        • Off campus delivery, online CGEA, community partnerships, embracing new technologies
      • Promote workplaces which value innovation and creativity , which are
      • attractive to employees and demonstrate fair workplace practices
