Introduction
In this introduction of Construction Industry Final
Project, we are assigned as a group of two to propose a
project that serves either as recreation area, commercial
area, Industrial area, Agricultural area, tourism area or
residential area which is 30m x 30m area anywhere. So far,
we found our site which is at Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.
We did our research and analysis about our site and we
decided that our site would best be a recreational area, A
park near the neighbourhood for them to have fun and relax
since there are not other park nearby.
3
Site Analysis
This is our original site
4
Our site is located at the empty land opposite the Caltex
gas station in Seremban. So far we observe that the empty
land have been left for a very long time. Basically it is a waste
of empty spaces. The empty land is filled with long grass and
it is opproximate size is bigger than 30m x 30m. It is just next
to the main road connecting to the small road along into the
housing area. We chose this area to become a park since it is
a great idea to build a park right outside the neighbourhood
for the families nearby.
5
Sunlight – Sun shines the whole place since it’s an open land.
Wind Direction – The wind blow from the south west and it is
strong.
Human Circulation – Walking pavement next to the main
road.
Car Circulation – Cars driving on the main road into the small
road or alternate road.
6
Site Specification
Looking North
It is a road to the housing area and facing to the residential
area.
Looking East
We can see the Caltex gas station in this sight and a small
empty land with grass.
7
Looking South
There is a main road (JALAN TUN DR ISMAIL) and commercial
area. Many shops can be seen as well.
Looking West
The abandon block will be seen at first and there is a
mountain at far away can be seen.
8
Concept
The main reason why we chose to create a park is that there
are no any nearby park. This park will be a place for
neighbourhood. It will be a place for the kid to play and enjoy
themselves on the slides, swings, see-saw and other fun stuff.
Moreover, not only that the kids get to enjoy
themselves, even the seniors can relax themselves by having
a walk around the park or just sit on the bench and just look
at the kids enjoy themselves.
9
Understanding of
Neighbourhood Park
10
To understand on how
to build a neighbourhood
park, we did more research
to improve our knowledge.
First, you need to know
the budget and plan
fundraise for your
neighbourhood park. Next,
decide what you think
should go into your park, how much it is going to cost to
build and how much it will cost to maintain. Consider things
like water lines, electrical lines, playground equipment and
regular maintenance. It is also best to consult the city council.
In many towns, making a call can get you on the agenda for
the next city council meeting. Alternately, if you can recruit a
member of the council to help, she can take the matter up
when it is appropriate. Before that, it is best to bring
supporters when you present your case to the council. The
city council needs to know that this isn’t just your personal
project, and that the neighbourhood as a whole wants the
park.
Last of all is to be patient and prepare to try again. Even
if everyone loves your ideas, it can still take time to get
through all the red tape. Sometimes, details of your proposal
might have to change and you might have to redo your
homework to make the proper accommodations.
11
Theme of park
Before starting with planning, there are many different type
of parks and maybe we can get more idea from it.
1. National Park
Protect the ecological integrity of one or more.
12
2. Regional Park
A centre point for all urban, rural and other territorial
population for recreational activities and distance is
within 1 hour drive from residential areas.
13
3. Urban Park
A medium-size site located in urban areas and close to
major transport interchanges.
4. Local Park
A small to medium-size site, located in or within service
centre. Accessible from anywhere, within city/suburb
areas that have a distance at 3.0 km from the residential
areas.
14
5. Community Park
Publicly owned lands, provided for full public access and
aim at providing recreation opportunities beyond those
supplied by neighbourhood parks.
6. Neighbourhood Park
A park that serve the recreation needs of people living
within a residential area and is typically accessed by
pedestrians and bicyclists, and are generally located on
streets with sidewalks.
Visual
This is the bubble diagram of our purposed plan of the
Neighbourhood Park.
This is the plan of our neighbourhood park.

Conclusion
Having a park is way better than having an empty land filled
with grass. It helps to keeps the snakes and rats away.
Besides that, a neighbourhood park near the residential area
so that they can finally have more time to enjoy themselves
outdoor instead of always being indoor. All they have to do is
to walk few minutes away to it or even just few seconds!

  • 10. Understanding of Neighbourhood Park 10 To understand on how to build a neighbourhood park, we did more research to improve our knowledge. First, you need to know the budget and plan fundraise for your neighbourhood park. Next, decide what you think should go into your park, how much it is going to cost to build and how much it will cost to maintain. Consider things like water lines, electrical lines, playground equipment and regular maintenance. It is also best to consult the city council. In many towns, making a call can get you on the agenda for the next city council meeting. Alternately, if you can recruit a member of the council to help, she can take the matter up when it is appropriate. Before that, it is best to bring supporters when you present your case to the council. The city council needs to know that this isn’t just your personal project, and that the neighbourhood as a whole wants the park.
