    • Carla Inherited her artistic giftedness from her mother andgrandfather loving photography since a young age.She is Texas born living in Indiana, Atlanta, Georgia; RedFeather Lakes, Colorado; and finally Dripping Springs, Texas.She has studied photography during the last twenty years. Carlastudied portrait, landscape, conceptual, natural light, studiolight, fine art, pet and equestrian photography.Her work is currently on display at the Texas Hill Country OliveOil Company, and soon, at the Cedar Valley Spirits and Galleryand the Fredericksburg Art Gallery. She is an honorablemention in the Photographer’s Forum Best of Photograph2010.Carla is a member of the Equine Photographers Network andProfessional Photographers Association. She is founder of thePhotographers of Dripping Springs (P.O.D.S.).Carla is the photographer and committee member for DrippingSprings Ranch Park, the German-Shepard Rescue of CentralTexas and Heritage Circle.Carla McCandless
    • Cathy was born in Dallas where she lived until shegraduated high school. As a little girl she was fascinatedwith the photographs that her Grandmother had taken ofher travels. When Cathy was 8 years old she received herfirst camera, a Kodak Brownie and that was the beginning.She attended the University of New Mexico inAlbuquerque, majoring in Fine Arts/Photography. Shestudied the History of Photography under BeaumontNewhall spending many hours in the darkroom. Herclassroom was a camera, where the world outside wasviewed upside down like a continuous movie. Everythingwas black and white, chemistry and magic. Ansel Adams,Dorothea Lange, Richard Avedon were her main influences.She moved to the Dripping Springs area 16 years ago, andfeels lucky to be in the Texas Hill Country. She and herhusband are avid travelers. She loves animals, nature andthe outdoors, which she explores with the camera and lens.Photography is her passion, and she loves capturing raremoments in time.Cathy is a member of the Photographers of DrippingSprings.Cathy P.     • DorRae began as most, a lover of photography as art, whenshe was young. She then became sidetracked by life,college and raising a family.In 2002, she began her “formal” study with Photography atAustin Community College with a focus in the Black andWhite Darkroom.DorRae opened her home studio in 2005. She has spent thelast several years as a member of PPA (ProfessionalPhotographers of America), TPPA (Texas ProfessionalPhotographers Association) and APPA. She continues tostudy and learn by attending workshops and classes. She isco-founder of the Photographers of Dripping Springs.While most of her “work” is in portraits and weddings, herpersonal work has a much broader range -- from food,landscape, fine art and documentary. Her goal is to tell andpreserve the beautiful and real stories that are all aroundus.Ed jacoby
    • John’s interest in photography began with dozens ofsnapshots of his dog, Smokey, and the public library acrossthe street. Over the years, he has transitioned from asimple box camera to today’s digital technology which hasbrought many amazing innovations.There has always been one constant for John, and that isthe satisfaction of capturing the essence of his subject in away that is both artistically creative and pleasing to hisviewers.John, a member of the Photographers of Dripping Springs,has studied photography and taken photography classesand workshops.He and his wife, Sue, reside in Dripping Springs, TX underthe watchful eye of their tuxedo cat, Riley.John Hoag

    • Mike has been a Vision Worker for most of his life, first instill photography and for the past 3 decades in motionphotography--lighting and shooting film and video, andoperating many tools of movement, especially the StantonTriangle Jib.Currently hes enjoying returning to still photography forlivelihood, and also exploring the power of photography forcreative expression and for sharing human experience.Mike is a member of the Photographers of DrippingSprings.     • Phyllis has loved photography since she was young. Sheenjoyed taking pictures and was fascinated withphotography using her parent’s old Brownie and Arguscameras. She is born and raised in Austin, a 6th generationTexan with deep roots in Texas History.She enjoys taking outdoor wildlife/scenic/landscape. EveryFall she and her husband drive to the Colorado RockyMountains to photograph fall colors.She attended Austin Community College photographyclasses and New York Institute of Photography; April 1998,Graduated in Professional Photography.She has attended workshops and contributed to the GulfStates Council 2005 Conference. Phyllis is a member of theAustin Shutterbug Camera Club, Hill Country PhotographyClub, Photographers of Dripping Springs and Artist ofDripping Springs.Exhibitions include: the Artist of Dripping Springs StudioTour; 2006, 2nd Annual San Marcos NaturescapesPhotography Contest & Exhibition, Westlake 2007, Barnes& Nobles; Wesley Gallery of Dripping Springs 2007,International Society of Photography OutstandingAchievement in Amateur Photography April 2004 - 3photographs published in their books.     • While vacationing as a little boy, Tom remembers hismother taking pictures with a box camera. The film wasmailed and a week or so later the pictures would bereturned for his family to enjoy. It was fascinating to himthat the camera was capturing events in time forever. Itwas at this time Tom began his relationship with thecamera.All during his education, military and career he never lostinterest in photography. Tom taught himself how todevelop and print black and white film. The finished printswere something that gave him great personal satisfaction.Now retired Tom can finally pursue his passion withphotography. After completing photo technology classes atACC, he is currently a student of photography participatingin Texas State Universitys Fine Arts undergraduateprogram.The days of the box camera are long gone; but Tom’sinterest in photography is still very much alive and growing.Tom is a member of the Photographers of Dripping Springs.He resides in Dripping Springs with his wife.Tom Johnson
