MichaelPeggs.com   2.  Problem   If  a  job  is  available  then  that  job  isn’t  geUng  done,  and  that’s  a  problem.  Ask   ques=ons  to  understand  the  job  responsibili=es  and  minimum  requirements.         Sample  Ques=ons:   •  What  strengths  and  skills  are  required  to  excel  here?   •  How  will  success  in  this  role  be  measured?   •  Historically,  where  have  former  members  of  your  team  faltered?  In  this  role,   what  challenges  have  they  faced?

MichaelPeggs.com   3.  Implica=on   Figure  out  the  consequences  if  the  job  goes  unfilled  or  the  quality  of  work  is  below   standard.     Sample  Ques=ons:   •  How  is  your  team’s  bandwidth  currently  effected  by  one  less  head?   •  What  projects  are  being  put  off  un=l  you  make  a  hire?   •  What  efficiencies  will  be  gained  by  filling  the  available  role?

MichaelPeggs.com   4.  Need   It’s  important  you  uncover  the  hiring  managers  pain  and  offer  a  solu=on.  If  you   can  get  answers  to  your  ques=ons  then  you’ll  understand  the  ul=mate  benefits   you  must  deliver.     Sample  Ques=ons:   •  How  would  you  benefit  from  an  addi=onal  head?   •  Would  it  help  if  your  next  team  member  did  x,  y  and  z?   •  You  said  the  problem  is  [a].  Does  a  solu=on  involving  [b]  help?
