The cultural and Historical Complex of Saadabad covers an area of 110 hectares and is located in the ever refreshing foothills of Tochal and Darband, enclosed from the north to the Alborz Mountains.
During Qajar dynasty (1794-1925) this area was used as the summer palace of the Royal family and after the coup of 1921 by Pahlavi, it expanded to a greater area with the addition of new gardens and became the summer residence of the kings of Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1979), Reza Shah, Mohammad Reza Shah and their families.

Încă din cele mai vechi timpuri platanul era plantat în Grădina Persană (Paradis) fiind un arbore cunoscut pentru umbra sa (dus de arabi în Spania, ibericii îi spun plátano de sombra )

It grows rapidly, especiallywhen young, and may reach 30 m(and sometimes more) in height, with a spreading crown, largepalmate leaves (compared by somePersian poets to spread humanhands), and a lofty, usually uprightand slightly tapering trunk the baseof which, when advanced in years, develops abnormally into anenormous, often squat mass, whichold age hollows out.Platanul, (Platanus Orientalis) a fostdin cele mai vechi timpuri unuldintre cei mai importanţi copaci dinPersia.
