  • Singapore is one of-the Four Asian Tigers or Asian Dragons, a term used in reference to the highly developed economies of Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan after 1970. Marina Bay is a bay near Central Area in the southern part of Singapore, and lies to the east of the Downtown Core. Merlion Marina Sand
  • Singapore was one of the first newly industrialized countries, between the early 1960s and 1990s
  • Singapore is a small island off the coast of Malaysia with a population of more than 4.48 million, second in density only to Monaco.
  • In 1970s, land reclamation was carried out at Marina Bay, forming what is today the Marina Centre and Marina South areas. In the reclamation process, Telok Ayer Basin was removed from the map, while the Singapore River's mouth now flows into the bay instead of directly into the sea. In 2008, Marina Barrage was built, turning Marina Bay and Kallang Basin into a new downtown freshwater Marina Reservoir, providing water supply, flood control and a new lifestyle attraction.
  • Singapore City is the country’s capital. The Port of Singapore is a major world port. Its compact size belies its economic growth.
  • In just 150 years, Singapore has grown into a thriving centre of commerce and industry
  • The island has no natural resources except for its location on the trade routes between East and West and the geography which has given it one of the world’s finest deep harbours.
  • The Esplanade (Theatres by the Bay) is a waterside building that can be found near the Singapore River, built to be the centre for performing arts for the island nation of Singapore. What gives the Esplanade that magnificent look on the outside is the Jendela, meaning window.
  • Singapore being an immigrant country and because it is one of the most stable societies in Asia, it contains a mixture of cultures, multi-racial, multi-religious and multi-lingual primarily from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and Europe united in the common effort to keep Singapore a prosperous place
  • Singapore is the fifth richest country in the world. And the world’s fourth leading financial center, and a cosmopolitan world city, playing a key role in international trade and finance.
  • Being close to the equator, having a very tropical climate, Singapore is main island with 63 surrounding islets of which just over twenty are inhabited.
  • Singapore is one of the cleanest cities in the world.
  • Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay. Developed by Las Vegas Sands, it is billed as the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion, including cost of the prime land.
  • In line with Singapore's image as a Garden City, construction of three waterfront gardens is underway at Marina Bay. The 101-hectare Gardens by the Bay site is made up of Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central across the mouth of the Singapore River. Phase 1 of the Gardens is scheduled to open in 2011. All three gardens will be interconnected via a series of pedestrian bridges to form a larger loop along the whole waterfront and linked to surrounding developments, open public spaces, transport nodes and attractions.
  • Images Internet With the casino complete, the resort features a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000 sq.m. convention- exhibition centre, The Shoppes mall, an Art & Science museum, two Sands Theatres, seven "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating pavilions, a casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex is topped by a 340m-long SkyPark with a capacity of 3,900 people and a 150m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 67m. The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie Architects
  • Designed as a symbolic gesture of welcome to guests from across the globe, the lotus-inspired Art Science Museum at Marina Bay Sands is the premier museum destination in Singapore for major international touring exhibitions from the most renowned collections in the world.
