316/316L stainless steel strip stainless steel is Mo-contained material, the overall mechanical performance is better than 301 and 304. In the high temperature environment with sulfuric acid(C%<15%>85%), 316/316L stainless steel strip have a good performance. Meanwhile, 316/316L stainless steel stripL also has good resistance to chloride corrosion performance, it is usually used in the marine environment. 316/316L stainless steel strip is immune from sensitisation (grain boundary carbide precipitation). Thus it is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (over about 6mm).

316/316L Stainless Steel has a high resistance to many chemical corrodents and
marine atmospheres. United Performance Metals offers both 316/316L Stainless Steel
sheet and coil. 316/316L Stainless Steels are more resistant to general corrosion and
pitting/crevices than conventional austenitic 316l Stainless Steels.
316/316L Stainless Steels also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile
strength at elevated temperatures. 316/316L are also well suited for fabricated or
formed applications.
2. Common Applications of 316/316l Stainless
Steel
• Oil & petroleum refining equipment
• Food processing equipment
• Pulp and paper processing equipment
• Soap and photographic handling equipment
• Textile Industry Equipment
• Architectural
• Pharmaceutical processing equipment
All of our 316/316LStainless Steel sheet and 316l Stainless Steel coil is ordered to

United Performance Metals supplies 316l Stainless Steel plate in a variety of
thicknesses up to 3.5". 316/316L Stainless Steel plate is supplied to UNS
S31600 &UNS S31603.
3. 316l Stainless Steel Sheet, Coil
& Plate
316l Stainless Steel
316l Stainless Steels are a family of iron based alloys that contain a minimum of 10.5% chromium (CR). The
presence of chromium creates an invisible surface film that resists oxidation and makes the material passive or
corrosion resistant (stainless). There are multiple families of 316l Stainless Steel which are designed for various
applications and uses. Stainless grades can be further modified to meet various processing, corrosion, temperature
and strength conditions.
316l Stainless Steel Sheet
Our 316l Stainless Steel sheet is available in 36" and 48" widths based upon availability from our supplying mills.
Our in-house cutting capabilities allow us to deliver custom sheet sizes and even ‘near net shapes’.
Our 316l Stainless Steel sheet is certified, prime material that is supplied from leading mill sources, and it is used
in a variety of industries including aerospace, medical, automotive, food service, energy, petro-chemical and many
others.
316l Stainless Steel Coil
With five slitters including 12", 18" turret, 18" light gauge, 24" and 50" machines, we have one of the most
comprehensive slitting operations in the country capable of processing the largest to the smallest order.
4. Our in-house edging capabilities include the ability to deliver a #1 round skived edge, #5 partial or full square
skived edge, #5 rolled edge, or a #3 slit edge.
Our edging equipment can also be customized to minimize camber for customers who require the tightest
tolerances. 2R and 3R groove inserts are available as well as traverse wound coils based on your customers'
requests.
316l Stainless Steel Plate
Our plate products are available in a variety of thicknesses. Many grades will range from 3/16" to 4" thick and
complement our sheet and coil products perfectly. Our extensive in-house cutting capabilities allow us to deliver
near net shapes with a quick turnaround time.
Our plate and our processing capabilities are specificially catered to customers engaged in industries ranging from
oil and gas exploration to aerospace to chemical manufacturing and power generation.
