  1. 1. Presenter: Manju Bhat Dr. Manju Bhat is a full-time Assistant Professor of Physiology at Winston-Salem State University (WinstonSalem, NC). He teaches mostly Anatomy & Physiology to undergraduate students majoring in allied health sciences and trains undergraduate students in biomedical research. After his undergraduate education in Veterinary medicine (India), Manju obtained M.Sc. in Pharmacology (Univ. of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada) and Ph.D. in Physiology (Case Western Reserve University. Cleveland, OH.). His current research is aimed at understanding calcium signaling mechanisms in sensory neurons and its role in acute and chronic pain. Manju has been a DFC since 2011. He enjoys sharing his experience in using a variety of digital learning tools, including LearnSmart, APR and Ph.I.L.S, and how these tools enhance student learning and performance. When he is not in a classroom or in his laboratory, Manju enjoys travel, photography, hiking, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
