The Assignment: Develop a MH Training Package for Line Managers within ADHC To provide a knowledge of; Policy and Legislation Risk Management Process Current documentation requirements Client Manual Handing Plans Why? WHS Act requirements Improve MH incident/injury rates in organisation

The obstacles 1000 Line Managers Geographically located across the whole of NSW Australia Budget to develop and run the training of $35,000 AUS All Managers to have training within 12 months Turn over of staff. New staff will require training on commencement You work casually, 2 days per week
  5. 5. The solution! Development of On Line Training Package Online education was defined as “instructional material transmitted and delivered via a personal computer to learners at locations remote from that of the instructor” (Donavant,2009:225)

  11. 11. Disadvantages of Online Training Some content not appropriate for on line training Difficult to find commercially available package that meets the exact requirements of the organisation. Therefore have to custom build course Set up cost may be prohibitive Some employees may lack technological skills required. No face to face interaction, inability to get feedback on questions immediately Capability with organisations technology

Measuring Outcomes: Several inbuilt measures available including; – tracking participation per region etc – Collated on-line quiz results – Collated results from participants survey  Pre and post numbers of referrals to the unit Pre and post numbers of CMHPs completed Sample survey in targeted region 3 months post completion
