Plugged-intelevision enthusiasts submittedquestions to on-site reporters viaFacebook and Twitter and thereporters then asked talent the bestquestions during an in-personexclusive interview. Talent answerswere then published as news articles,sustaining live social media buzzthroughout the day—from questionsubmission through interview posting. 13

Example Work: Custom Facebook Page DesignClient YearSquarz 2011Social shopping startup Squarz waslooking for a way to retain—in theform of “Likes”—more of the trafficcoming across their Facebook pageduring their pre-launch phase. BeckMedia & Marketing implemented atactic referred to as “fan gating,”where valuable content is barricadedbehind the “Like.” With thistechnique, users are teased with adisplay of locked content andpromised the content will beunlocked and viewable upon Likingthe page.Beck Media & Marketing designedand coded a custom Facebooklanding tab—branded in the style ofthe Squarz website—whichbarricaded clues about the platformbehind the “Like.” Curious users thathad been funneled to the page viaTwitter and e-mail landed on thecustom tab and were enticed to“Like” the page in order to unlockthe clues about the platform. 14

Example Work: Special Event & Social Media MarketingClient YearNBC Universal 2011NBC Universal hosted an A-list premiereevent for their superhero drama series“The Cape” at The Henry Fonda Music Boxin Hollywood. The network invited severalhundred of their top contacts: televisionfans and enthusiasts, NBC supporters,industry influencers, and show critics.NBC had an interactive element plannedfor the event as well: a green-screenphoto booth where guests could havetheir faces superimposed into a brandedcomic book cover, the image of whichcould be downloaded at a later time.NBC asked Beck Media & Marketing toadd a social media layer that could amplifybuzz of the premiere beyond the walls ofthe physical venue, and into the onlinenetworks of the influencers in attendance.Beck Media & Marketing worked closely with NBC’s Event and Operations Director to equip the area around the photo booth with fourinternet-connected computer kiosks. These kiosks permitted guests to access their photos mere minutes after they had been taken, andimmediately push those photos out to online networks via Facebook, Twitter, and direct e-mail.Beck Media & Marketing also coordinated with the event’s photo vendor to customize the default share message that accompanied eachphoto. Sharing on Facebook included the show tune-in information, and sharing on Twitter included the custom hashtag #TheCape. 15

Example Work: Custom Landing Page ConsultationClient YearSwivel by FaceCake 2012When augmented-reality dressingroom Swivel by FaceCake was chosento be featured by Microsoft at the2012 International ConsumerElectronics Show in Las Vegas, andNational Retail Federation EXPO inNew York, FaceCake had to rapidlyoverhaul its web presence for theproduct.Along with refining Swivel byFaceCake’s marketing position andmedia collateral, Beck Media &Marketing translated the refreshedmessaging into a highly visual, digitalform, and optimized the Swivelhomepage to funnel the flurry of newvisitors into contact forms specific tothe respective conferenceappearances. 16
