June 22-23, 2009
Commons Conference Center
Austin, Texas, USA
Session Description:
From Facebook and other Social networking applications to wikis, blogs
and digital media, students in the U.S. are fully engaged in the use of
participatory Web 2.0 tools outside of the classroom. Though school
leaders believe that Web 2.0 collaborative applications expand the
resources available for classroom learning; they are often constrained
by policy considerations.
How can schools better align the reality of technology-rich world in
which students live outside of school with the learning experiences they
have in the classroom each day?

Then ask yourself, who is the hawk
in your district? Who is the King?
What does this have to do with Web
2.0 and Leadership?
Phone in your reflections.

gets to post what, and creating a chain of command
to ensure that only appropriate and approved
materials show up on your static district web site,
everyone in your community have been creating their
own sites telling their version of your story."

dealing with the problems of Web 2.0
than on challenges to leverage Web
