    Route 66 - Presentation Transcript

    1.  
      • Looking just about everywhere we see signs.
        • These road signs mean something.
      • See God’s messages in the signs to help with devotion to God wherever you go.
      • As we devote our lives to Christ let us meditate on God’s word to help us. 2 Cor. 5:15; Psalm 119:27; 1 Tim. 4:15
    2. “ Be still and know that I am God” Ps. 46:10
      • Every stop sign you encounter, pause for a moment to look for traffic, but also to see God’s presence in the surrounding area.
      • Colossians 1:16-17
      • Reflect on God being a part of your life.
      • Galatians 2:20; Colossians 3:4
      • Let all of your senses become more aware of God around you and in you. Eph. 4:6
      • It is always important to think
      • about God. Psalm 63:3-7; Acts 2:25
      • But it’s vital to actively participate in life with expressions of your faith. James 2:18
      • Whenever you see a school crossing sign, reflect on a way you can actively walk with the Lord, applying Christianity to your daily life. 2 Corinthians 4:16
      I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth 3 Jn. 4
    3. “ So you may walk in the way of goodness, And keep to the paths of righteousness.” Prov. 2:20
      • As you encounter Keep Right signs,
      • praise God for giving you direction on
      • the road of life. Prov. 3:5-6; Ps. 23:3
      • Reflect on an area of your life that needs to be improved and striving to do what is right and good. Luke 13:23-24; Deut. 6:18

      • There will always be “bumps” in
      • the road and in our life as well.
      • We need to place our faith and hope in Christ who has overcome sin and death.
      • Romans 8:2
      • When driving over bumps slow down and reflect on letting God drive your life, giving you a smoother ride. Psalm 27:11
    5. 1 John 3:21-22
      • God blesses us and communicates with us and offers a personal relationship through His son, Jesus Christ. John 15:14
      • When we see a 2-Way street sign, reflect on how we are on a “2-Way street” with God, able to pray to Him, obey His commands and enjoy His blessings.
      • Luke 18:1; John 15:11
    6. James 5:16
      • When you drive by a hospital or see an ambulance, fire truck, or other emergency vehicle, pray for those affected.
      • James 5:15
      • Also remember someone who is hurting, pray that they might have the strength to carry through with God’s help. 2 Cor. 1:3-4
    7. Joshua 24:23
      • A great road sign that speaks not only to traffic but is a reminder to “yield” your heart to the Lord!
      • Don’t give way to “foreign gods,” i.e. power, money, or other self seeking goals.
      • Explore what’s preventing you from focusing on the Lord. 2 Cor. 13:5
      • Yield to God’s power, wisdom and love!
    8. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. Psalm 33:3
      • An important aspect of our relationship with God is our praise to Him! Rom. 15:8-11
      • Approach him in times of jubilation. Jas. 5:13
      • When you see children playing or drive by a playground, let it remind you to sing praises to God, rejoicing in all the joys He has given you. Ps. 33:1; Phil. 4:4
    9. Proverbs 4:14-15
      • Whenever you see a Do Not Enter sign, let it remind you to stay clear of sin.
      • 1 Thes. 5:22; 1 Tim. 5:22
      • Consider what you’ll be doing soon which may present temptations to make you stray. Steer clear of those temptations.
      • 1 Cor. 10:12-13
    10. John 14:6
      • The one way sign offers a very direct message: there is ONLY ONE WAY for us to enjoy eternal life in heaven - JESUS. Acts 4:12; 1 Cor. 3:11
      • When you see a One Way sign, offer a prayer of thanks for your salvation in Christ and renew your commitment to the ONE WAY – JESUS! 2 Peter 3:18
      • If you’re not saved yet, obey Him now!
      • The Road To Salvation
      • Hear and Believe the Gospel - Acts 18:8
      • Repent of sinful living – Acts 2:38
      • Confess Jesus – Acts 8:37
      • Be Baptized – Acts 22:16
      • Be faithful unto death then receive eternal life… Matt. 10:22; Heb.10:36; Rev. 2:10
