    1. Examples Worth Imitating… 1 Timothy 6:12 • As we look back to see the rock from which we are hewn (Isa 51:1-2), we do well to find good things to keep and emulate which are in accord with God’s Word. 1 Corinthians 11:1
    2. They believed in the LORD, and that nations should call on Him. Ps. 33:12; Ps. 79:6; Jer. 10:25 “The laws of… Nature’s God,” “Creator” •We must believe! Heb. 11:6; Jn. 14:1 •What a terrible plight when not. Jn. 8:24 •Nations crumble and are destroyed Psalm 9:17
    3. • They had faith in God’s Inspired Word as their guide. 2 Tim. 3:16-17; Prov. 30:5 – “We find these truths to be self evident…” – Must acknowledge God in all our ways… Public and private Prov. 3:5-6; Eph. 6:4; Deut. 6:1-9
    4. • They believed in principles of Biblical righteousness as their foundation. Prov. 14:34; Ps. 145:17 • “All men are created equal” Eccl. 7:29; Gen. 8:21; Ezek. 18:20 • God is not a respecter of persons… Acts 10:34-35
    5. “Principles of Biblical Righteousness…” • “Endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness…” – Life is sacred… Gen. 9:5-6 – Liberty is opened… Gen. 9:1 – Happiness is possible… Ps. 146:5 – Government allowed by God to insure these rights… Romans 13
    6. “Principles of Biblical Righteousness…” • They believed that “Rulers,” leaders in Government should be men of truth and those who fear God. Ex. 18:21; Prov. 29:2 “The scriptures teach that rulers should be men who rule in the fear of God, able men such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness. It is to the neglect of this rule of conduct in our citizens that we must ascribe the multiplied frauds, breaches of trust, peculations, and embezzlements of public property which astonish even ourselves.” Noah Webster
